Congestion Charge

The congestion charge is a fee charged on designated vehicles operating within designated Congestion Charge Zones.

This is done to reduce the number of vehicles entering the already congested areas and to promote drivers to use alternative routes.

Imposing a congestion charge on vehicles in certain zones could also encourage people to use public transport, thus enhancing the environmental quality.

Example in the world includes the congestion charge initiative which was introduced in London since 2003.
